Still though, it did have a lot to offer and I would recommend people to go there.

In response to:Stockholm

i stayed outside stockholm in a place called saltsjobaden (not sure if i spelled that right) - a short train ride away, right on the coast.
gave us the perfect blend of city and sea which i like the best.
i loved walking round stockholm - water everywhere, great history and architecture, and excellent design in the shops...

enjoy.

In response to:Dublin

i didn't enjoy dublin.
i found it overcrowded and stressful.
i'm convinced they even had bouncers on the door at marks and spencers and that put me off a bit!

In response to:Dublin

Glad you had fun in Ireland.

I find Dublin to be an incredibly stressful city - the lack of efficient public transport wrecks my head.

Still though, it is a great place for a short weekend away. :)

In response to:Minsk

Another interesting piece of information about Belarus:
Protesters beaten

MINSK Dozens of opposition activists were held as police beat protesters marking a nationalist holiday. About 2,000 people gathered in an unsanctioned demonstration to mark the brief independence enjoyed by Belarus after March 25, 1918. (AFP)

I don't want to say anymore about this topic, as I hoped to write a post on it! :)

We do think that CZ is the best though, despite the water!

In response to:The Tobbot Clan Do The Czech Republic

I was just in Czech Rep over the weekend. Was marvellously fun.

I was in the west, near the German border, where there are lots of little spa towns with natural (and utterly rancid) volcanic springs. The best of them are in Karlovy Vary and Frantiskovy Lazne. Apparently the water makes you live forever!

In response to:Stockholm

Go see Mira!!!!!
I actually am from Sweden, but I have never been to Stockholm. This is really a shame and I will do my best to go there some time soon, though I am living in Scotland at the moment.

So... I can't come up with any good ideas on what you could do, becuase they are all obvious ones that I am sure your friend from Stockholm will know all about.

Anyhow, if you are thinking of going anywhere else in Sweden, I might be able to help. I am from the southwestern part myself, not too far from Gothenburg - a really nice city!

Hope you'll get good tips from other people though, and that you enjoy your trip!

my favourite clubs are kontrast, medusa and the anchor! don't be afraid of wild swedish rockers though ;)

a year ago or so you could enter all museums without paying, but now they changed that. i would recommend the many museums near the old town (/the palace) nevertheless.
